‘Professor Emeritus’ (Dr.) N. K. Ahuja (MDS, PGDHHM, FICD, FWFO, FPFA, FICCDE) KGMC(1965-1969) after one year of service in AIIMS, joined Army Dental Corps in  1970 to 1993. While in the Army, he served on variety of assignments including Bangladesh and Anti-Militancy operations in Nagaland and J & K. He also served as teaching faculty at AFMC Pune for 7 years.
Dr. Ahuja has received many decorations and honors to name a few,  ‘Army Chief’s  Commendation Card’ (1983-89), ‘Jewel in the Crown’ by A.D. Corps in 2008, ‘President’ of Indian Orthodontic Society (2010-2011), ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award (2014) by the International Forum of Defence Services (Dental), ‘Outstanding Professor’  2015 by I.O.S., ‘Lifetime Achievement’ by Army Chief, 2016,  ‘Distinguished Alumni’, KGMC,  in 2016, honored for ‘Exemplary Contribution towards Education’ by the Deputy, Chief Minister, U.P. in 2019, ‘Meerut Ratan’ by the All India Conference of Intellectuals, ‘Rajiv Gandhi Shiromani’ award by National Integration & Economic Council and many more.

After retirement from Army in November,1993, took over as HOD-Orthodontics &  Principal of Subharti Dental College (2000-2011). On superannuation, he became ‘Pro Vice Chancellor’  of Swami  Vivekanand Subharti University in 2011. In April 2014, he was appointed ‘Director - General Administration’ and in 2015, Dr. Ahuja took over as the Vice Chancellor of the University to retire in August, 2020.
